Autumnal Greeting Cards – Dry Embossing with Stencils

Hi there, Susanne here! Today I’m sharing two autumnal greeting cards using our brand new Autumn Leaves stamp set combined with some elegant embossed backgrounds. Did you know, that you can dry emboss with our stencils? All you need is a die-cutting machine. It gives wonderful results, perfect for your cardmaking. I already made a tutorial a while ago and will link it up at the end of the post.

For my cards I used two embossed papers and added some interest by splattering metallic gold watercolors onto them. The leaves are stamped with a layering technique. First I inked up the stamp with different Distress Inks, spritzed that with water and stamped it onto watercolor paper. If necessary I moved the ink around with a brush. After this first layer was dry I cut the leaves out. I then inked up the matching stamp with Distress Ink and layed the cut-out leaf onto the stamp. I gave it a careful press and voilá!

I hope you like my cards! You will find a tutorial on how to do the dry embossing with stencils and your Sizzix Big Shot here.

xx Susanne
