Adding Background Textured with Stencils – Mixed Media Icads

Hi there, Susanne here! I am participating in this years #icad2023 challenge over on instagram. Icad means index card and I am “decorating” one card each day in June and July. I cut my cards from either watercolor or mixed media paper. It’s holds a lot more supplies than a regular index card and I also don’t have index cards at home. For today’s cards I worked with a more dimensional way to create interest on the background. I used stencils together with Texture Paste on my cards. This gives you a really interesting look. For the focal point I adhered images from Sketchy Leaves together with some collage scraps. Click continue to watch the process videos.

Collage Paper Collection using and Old Book and Stamps

Hi everyone, Susanne here today. I wanted to share a nice way on how to create and store collage papers using an old book and some mark making stamps. I recently went to a book-market and grabed a very old maths book. The pages are full with numbers and because of their age they already have this yellow/brown color. I thought they are perfect to use as collage papers. Click continue for some process videos and more ideas.
