Mixed Media Art Journal Tutorial for Beginners with Collage and Pencil Marks 7

Hi there, Susanne here with a beginner friendly art journaling tutorial using collage, Distress Crayons and stamps from our new Pencil Marks 7 stamp set. I am building an easy background with neutral paper scraps from old books, stationery supplies and some left over paint paper. Index Cards with Mixed Media Background and our Collage Fodder

Hi there, Susanne here with a duo of mixed media index card using our fabulous and versatile Sketchy Leaves stamps. For the background I used collage paper combined with softpastels, liquid charcoal, stamps and mark making. You can apply this technique to any kind of mixed media project. It will work perfectly on an art journal page, as a greeting card background and for artist trading cards.

ATCs with Mixed Media Background & Collage Leaves Stamps

Hi there, Susanne here! I’m sharing a set of two mixed media artist trading cards using stamps from our brand new Collage Leaves 2 set. The card base is cut from a masterboard that I created in mixed media. I started the masterboard with vinyl paints, applied randomly, did some stamping and mark making. Usually this turns out quite messy and doesn’t look like a piece of art, but once you cut it down to smaller pieces it makes a gorgeous background.

Mixed Media Index Card with Stencil Background and Collage Fodder

Hi there, Susanne here with a mixed media index card using some handmade collage fodder botanicals on a messy background. For the background I used our Organic 1 stencil together with heavy gesso to create a pattern. I picked a stenciled focal image that I made using our Sketchy Leaves 3 stencils together with Brusho pigment powders.
